Meet your acupuncturist.

Esme Cody, LAc

Hello! I’m Esme, the founder of Yin Body Acupuncture in Boulder, CO.

I strive to help my patients reclaim their well-being and enjoy the activities they love once again.

In 2022, I earned a Master of Acupuncture with a specialization in Chinese Herbal Medicine degree from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine (CSTCM). This four-year program consisted of 3,045 hours of didactic education and 1,000 hours of clinical application. Traditional training complimentary to acupuncture included electro-stimulation, moxibustion, tui na, cupping, gua sha, auriculotherapy, dietary and lifestyle recommendations.

My growing passion for women’s health, fertility and hormonal balance blossomed while working with a strong group of women at Alpenglow Acupuncture. Within my clinical experience, the knowledge I’ve gained is significant and has shaped the way I practice to the best of my ability.

My Story

Since I was young, I knew I was destined to go into medicine. Yet, I didn’t know which type and what my future would look like. The original plan was to take the allopathic route, but that quickly changed during my first year of undergrad in Costa Rica. With the guidance of my advisor and the encouragement she gave me in plant medicine, I finally started to see the missing pieces.

From that point on, I packed my bag and moved to India to learn about Ayurvedic traditions from various generations of healers. My fascination grew with alternative medicine, which then guided me to China to study Traditional Chinese Medicine. Surprisingly, I still hadn’t tried acupuncture until this journey and I soon became completely obsessed. For my next year I sought out teachers and advisors for independent studies that could steer me in the right direction.

For my final place of study I longed to quiet my mind after years of stimulation. This factor brought me to beautiful Bali, Indonesia where I can honestly say I learned how to listen, not only to others but also to myself. This may sound esoteric, but the skill of listening is much overlooked. I believe this invaluable skill aligns with our health and wellness on all levels. It’s easy to ignore the signs of our body’s imbalance when we get busy with work. Stress can build, taking care of ourselves and love ones can be challenging . Unfortunately, the body doesn’t forget about its needs and will seek help. We forget to eat, drink and nourish ourselves on a regular basis…. this is why I am here.

I cannot wait to meet you because we’ve all been there and I get it. Let’s work together to get you back to your happy place and stay there! Throughout my experiences, I feel deeply grateful for the opportunities I’ve had thus far and will be a student all my life. I’m proud to bring a cultural mix of values to my practice and would love to share my knowledge about alternative healing methods with you.
